Dear Broadway,
Please explain why Lauren Zakrin has not been cast as Christine in Phantom,
like, just look at her? Have you listened to her?

Hadden-Paton’s Higgins is visibly hurt by what he perceives as Eliza’s abandonment of him, and he’s never learned to process disappointment or, worse, emotional vulnerability. He shows us a man whose own journey of self-discovery is only just beginning well after Eliza has embarked upon hers.— Sara Holden, Vulture
a directional choice that i love in the my fair lady revival is how eliza is the only one who is able to enter and exit higgins’ space by just stepping onto and out of the set without using the obviously more in-story way of opening and leaving through the doors. and she remains the only one right until the end when higgins steps into his study when he sings i’ve grown accustomed to her face. like i don’t know why but it just illustrates how eliza is the only one who is not stuck in her class / life like the rest and how she affected higgins so much that it is literally visible.
“I am seized by feelings of vanity and fear. There is no barrier between us. Whispers and moans, and ringing in my ear. There is no barrier between us. Divine, delicious, but I do not see or hear anything.”
